Overview

Using the same scenario from Identifying the Organizational Learning Issue, as the vice president of human resources, you must create a memorandum to the CEO on the issues you discovered from the research. This memorandum serves as your communication to share the discovered problems and request for permission to continue researching future solutions.

Instructions

Write a 1–2 page memorandum in which you:

  • Identify the issue(s) you discovered in the organization’s mystification from individual learning to the organizational learning using the examples that you provided in Identifying the Organizational Learning Issues assignment.
  • Elaborate on the significant barriers that you discovered impact the process of learning within the organization’s culture. Provide a brief description of the selected OLM (such as, Off-line/Internal, Online/Internal, Off-line/External, or Online/External) that will be most suitable for this transition. Justify the selection.
  • Suggest two actions that management can take in order to raise the level of trust as part of their strategy to create psychological safety. Justify your suggestions.
  • Use Microsoft Word or other equivalent software to select a memorandum template for this supporting document, or use the template located here.

ASSIGNMENT #2:  Your specific assignment for this module is to select a health care organization for your project and have it approved by your professor. You may consider any health care organization as long as you have enough access to the organization and/or level of understanding of that organization necessary to complete the assignment.

Note: You will not be asked to reveal any proprietary or confidential information in your reports. In addition, there are several health care organizations that do a fantastic job of publicly disclosing their health information infrastructure in an online format such as: https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/the_johns_hopkins_hospital/ . If you don’t have direct access to a health care organization, you can use one of the health care organizations that provides its health information infrastructure online.

Accordingly, your selected health care organization can be:

·  The organization for which you work.

·  A health care organization for which a friend or relative works. You must be able to access information concerning this organization that is relevant to your SLP assignments.

·  A local health care organization that is willing to share insight about how it manages health information.

·  Any health care organization that makes public its approach to health information management, operations, and organizational structure.

******Provide a 7- to 10-slide (not including title slide and reference slides) PowerPoint presentation on the health care organization you have selected. Provide a brief overview of the health care organization. Next, discuss the types of health care information systems the organization uses (i.e., EHR, clinical decision support, patient portals, etc.). Please respond to the following:

  • Design a table using three of the six contextual factors (for example, environmental uncertainty, task uncertainty, error criticality, task structure, proximity to the organization’s core mission, and organizational structure). For each contextual factor, create one brief scenario that is beyond management’s control. Then, develop one corrective action to increase management’s success. Note: Use Microsoft Word or similar software to create the table, then copy and paste it into the discussion board.
